Terms of Service

1. License Grant

Rentproof grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the application on any iOS device you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license is subject to and governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the app or its content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the app for any commercial purpose without permission
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws

2. Your Data

You retain full ownership of all data you create in Rentproof, including but not limited to: photographs, notes, property information, room details, issue reports, and exported PDF reports.

Rentproof does not access, collect, store, or transmit your data. All data is stored locally on your device. You are solely responsible for:

• Backing up your data
• Ensuring the accuracy of information you enter
• Securing access to your device
• Managing who you share exported reports with

3. Not Legal Advice

Rentproof is a documentation tool only. It does not provide legal advice, and nothing in the app should be construed as legal guidance. The generated PDF reports are designed to support your security deposit claims but do not guarantee any specific legal outcome.

For questions about tenant rights, landlord-tenant law, security deposit regulations, or legal disputes, consult a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction.

4. Accuracy of Documentation

While Rentproof embeds timestamps and GPS coordinates in photos to create verifiable evidence, we make no guarantees about:

• The admissibility of documentation in legal proceedings
• The acceptance of reports by landlords or property managers
• The accuracy of GPS data in all conditions
• The outcome of any deposit dispute

The effectiveness of documentation depends on many factors outside our control, including local laws, court procedures, and the specific circumstances of your tenancy.

5. Limitation of Liability

Rentproof is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to:

• Data loss due to device failure, app deletion, or other causes
• Failed security deposit claims or disputes
• Inaccurate or incomplete documentation
• Device incompatibility or software bugs
• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rentproof, its developer, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the app or violation of these terms.

7. Updates and Changes

We may release updates to improve functionality, fix bugs, or address security issues. While we strive to maintain backward compatibility, some updates may change features or functionality.

We may also update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of Rentproof after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be noted with an updated revision date on this page.

8. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of these terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the app.

You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting the app from your device.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.

10. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

11. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and Apple's EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and Rentproof regarding the use of the app.
